Responsibilities
Position Purpose
To manage core accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, oversee tax and bank activities, and maintain compliant lease and loan records.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform core accounting functions including accruals, account reconciliations, monthly closings, cash schedule preparation, check issuing, and financial statement generation for U.S., Canada, and audit requirements.
• Administer loan and bank activities by maintaining bank records, updating cash flow balances, funding requests, rollover lists, and issuing funding arrangement notices.
• Handle tax compliance by preparing sales, property, and miscellaneous tax returns (Form 1042, 1096, 1099, census, annual reports), researching state taxes, updating systems, and preparing estimated income tax payments.
• Perform lease and loan maintenance by booking contracts, tracking expiration dates, reporting monthly profitability, and issuing resale certificates.
• Support senior management and Tokyo Headquarters by preparing financial statements, analytical reports, and rate updates.
Professional Development and Experience
• Gain comprehensive operational experience in multi-jurisdictional accounting, corporate tax processing, bank and funding administration, and lease portfolio management.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university
• 8+ years of accounting experience
• Experience at an audit firm, financial institution, or leasing company preferred
