Regional Features of Illinois

Illinois

Illinois is an iconic Midwestern state where the skyscrapers of the major metropolis of Chicago coexist with vast plains of cornfields stretching as far as the eye can see. Chicago is like a museum of architecture, where you can enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings and beautiful cityscapes as part of your daily life. In terms of food culture, the thick Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and the Chicago Dog, served on a poppy seed bun with plenty of vegetables, are famous. The city is also a mecca for blues and jazz, with wonderful music flowing from live music venues throughout the night. Many Japanese companies are based here, and there is a massive Japanese community around the suburb of Arlington Heights. With access to Japanese books, groceries, and medical services, it offers a sense of security almost like being in Japan. The climate has four distinct seasons; while the winters are severe with strong winds from Lake Michigan, the lakeside festivals and beach life in the summer are incredibly exciting. It is an extremely balanced region where you can build a career at the forefront of business while enjoying a rich culture and a convenient living environment.
