Produce Dept Assistant Manager / Manage inventory, ordering, merchandising, quality control, customer service / Asian Food Retail

Responsibilities

* Department Operations: Assist the Produce Manager with all daily tasks, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving produce.

* Merchandising: Ensure produce displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and maintained according to quality and freshness standards.

* Quality Control: Regularly inspect produce to guarantee freshness and quality. You'll be responsible for rotating stock and minimizing waste.

* Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with their produce selections and answering any questions they may have.

* Team Support: Help train and supervise produce department staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

* Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

* Minimum 2-year of experiences in related field.

* Proven experience in a retail produce department or a similar role.

* Strong knowledge of various fruits and vegetables, including handling and storage requirements.

* Excellent organizational and communication skills.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks like lifting and stocking.

* A passion for high-quality food and a desire to provide a great customer experience.

Preferred

* Knowledge of Japanese produce or cultural practices related to produce is a plus.

* Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
