Regional Features of Hawaii

The state of Hawaii is a group of islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, possessing a unique world where Polynesian traditions merge with diverse immigrant cultures. While it is one of the most familiar overseas destinations for Japanese people, it holds a profound charm that can only be understood by living there. Having once been the home of the Kingdom of Hawaii, one can feel the spirit of the monarchy at historic sites such as Iolani Palace. The food culture, known as "Pacific Rim," is full of delicious options that suit the Japanese palate, including Japanese-influenced Poke, Spam musubi, plate lunches, and traditional Kalua Pig. The climate is warm year-round, with pleasant trade winds blowing through. It is also called the "Rainbow State" because rainbows appear so frequently. On the business side, while tourism is central, there is a proud culture of working as hospitality professionals. The work style is characterized by a mix of relaxation and mutual respect, such as the custom of "Aloha Friday", where Aloha shirts are recognized as formal wear. Living surrounded by beautiful mountains and sea, and the spirit of love and cooperation known as the "Aloha Spirit", will be an irreplaceable life experience.
